Capturing a moment in time, a blissful daydreaming state informs my work. Using snapshots that I have taken for inspiration I often start with an idea but end up somewhere else as the materials guide me down a path of exploration.
The physicality involved in creating is a large part of my process and I generally work on several pieces at the same time which allows me to be spontaneous without interrupting the unfolding rhythmic patterns. Playing around with a variety of materials helps me to connect to the subconscious where all of my best ideas seem to reside.
Currently I find myself thinking about TIME both in our daily life and from a historical perspective. How time shapes us by the decades we live through and our own very personal relationship to time itself. Do you run fast, run slow, always late, always on time and why?
Time is fast - Time is slow - In a blink it goes.
Shadows fall in a myriad of shapes as we spin and the sun moves through our life.
Pinwheel of moments
